This is a WOW! for Dr. Mirangler examining KS in front of the camera. Don't we always wonder what she is doing behind the camera, well now we know! Full-length catching and body exam, even a robe wrap to weigh her. Leigh-Ann & Suzy help her, and don't you wonder when Dr. M examines her closeup optics that she doesn't get bitten. Gotta give the others their due in being very strong, certain of their ability, and able to help the doctor. Because I was able to remove about 1.5 minutes at the very beginning (when they were just sitting on the perch), I was able to get the whole thing in ONE video, so there is no Part 2. So no need to look for it.... it is all there in THIS video

August 9 update
No weigh-in for NX today — but her roommate, KS, was caught-up for a foot and feather check, weigh-in, and blood draw. One reason why the vets didn’t coordinate the weigh-in schedule of the two eagles was so they could observe NX during KS’s capture. At first, NX just saw on the far perch and observed — but after taking a couple of flights through the pen, she resumed her perch and began her younger “cheeping” distress noises. The Wildlife Center team will continue to observe NX and monitor her behavior

KS was caught up this morning for a foot and feather check, blood draw for a complete blood count, eye examintation, and weight. All went well – her current weight is 4.03 kg [last weight was 4.06 kg]. Best of all, she has four tail feathers “in blood” — four blood feathers growing in.

Raptors have twelve tail feathers — which are counted from left to right, as the bird is facing you.
