We have decided to refer to the eaglet with the transmitter as "Azalea". She needs a name to identify her on the www.wildlifetracking.org and www.ccb-wm.org/eagletrak/ web sites and it fits well with the NBG location which locals call the Azalea Gardens.

Last year when CCB announced that we intended to fit a satellite transmitter to one of the NBG eaglets, we estimated it would cost about $6,300 for the satellite time for the 3-year period the transmitter is expected to last - satellite time costs $150-200 per month depending on satellite time used. Therefore, we set $6,300 as a fund raising goal. CCB paid for the transmitter and is providing the staff time. We have not reached the goal we set. While there are over 60 Azalea adopters, we have raised just over 50% of the funds needed - $3,275. There may be folks who considered becoming an Azalea adopter, but assumed we received the funds required. It would be very helpfuf if you could remind your forum members about the Azalea adoption oppotunity. All the funds donated come to CCB. It's an easy process. Click on the "Adopt an Eagle" box at the top of my two blog sites or the Center for Conservation Biology sites.

Thank you

Azalea was adopted by 76 people/groups on Seaturtle.org
Azalea has 326 fans through seaturtle.org that receive daily email updates on her whereabouts

$4,125 was collected by seaturtle.org
23 people contributed $25
35 people contributed $50
18 people contributed $100

that isn't a great improvement since your January report :(
