This is at least the third sighting of Azalea. Jim Deal saw her 2 weeks ago in exactly the same place I saw her this morning. A viewer Lola likely saw her Sunday - see blog. I did get photos but still almost dark, foggy and 200 feet away. you can see where she was at Seaturtle.org - wildlife tracking - data explorer (new) - then zoom to VB where grey eagle is on map. If you click on eagle it says Azalea.

Reese

eta: Reese said this is a new feature. Azalea and Camellia will not be featured every day since there are over 500 animals being tracked.

Now I'm starting to wonder if the juvi Eagle I saw flying high over NBG headed towards the front entrance of NBG was actually "NC" after reading Reese's blog. The timing works out (Eagle seen between 2:45-3:30pm but no pictures taken) when he was in the area.

Oh well...so close yet so far......again.

I'm so tickled for Holly she caught that shot! :D ...she also had another sighting of Camellia near the Perennial Garden but could not get a shot there.
